Abstract


Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is bacterial invasion of urinary tract that caused inflammation response. UTI can occurin men and females, particularly in females. The bacterial profile of UTI is variable, depend on sites and sex. Bacterialisolation will help to choose effective treatment. The purpose of this study was to find out bacterial profile of UTI inPekanbaru. Result of this study showed that UTI primarily occured in females (80%) and the most common bacteriawas Gram-negative (76%) such as E.coli, Klebsiella sp, Pseudomonas sp, Enterobacter, and Proteus. The most commonUTI in females was E.coli (34.3%), and in men was Staphylococcus aureus (26.7%)
